I don't know about the M4 but at one point when I liked reddots, I used the Larue M68 mount for my comp m2. I co witness it with a shaved down carry handle and a2 front sight. The iron sights was lower and the reddot was higher (not true co-witness as one was off from the other). Not sure if Larue makes a M4 mount but I'm sure they do.

Some time ago I go a Midwest Industries QD mount for my Aimpoint T1, so I thought I'd try one for the Pro. The big knob base is held on the base by two screws. You take them off and you can remove the big knob and or the spacer. The MI QD mount is a direct replacement for the big knob. So far I really like it.

aimpopint 3x clone and larue clone mount. I just got the larue clone mount today and it looks pretty well built. The finish is a bluish anodize finish. Overall I'm happy for a $40 mount. The interface to to any micro mount, with or without the included factory spacer, is exactly the same as any prior Aimpoint Micro Optic. Scalarworks and others have designed mounts for prior micros that eliminate what, until the M5S, used to be the standard factory spacer height. So unfortunately, you can't use them.
