MICH is the abbreviation for Modular Integrated Communications Helmet. They also go by the ACH, or Advance Combat Helmet. It is the successor to the PASGT ballistic helmets that were issued to soldiers in the 1980s to the early stages of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

We should note that there are innumerable acronyms floating about the tactical helmet universe these days including PASGT, ACH, MICH, FAST and more. Don't be intimidated. The different acronyms just indicate various generations of ballistic helmets. Chronologically, modern helmet design progressed from M1 to PASGT to MICH to ACH to FAST.

This helmet is the real deal but it's being sold strictly as an awesome collectible or a prop to be used in a play, a military tribute, or as part of a costume. The Advanced Combat Helmet is based on the MICH design and provides an improved Helmet for Soldiers, replacing the older PASGT. In addition to providing Soldier Ballistic and impact protection, it can be used as a platform to Mount electronics such as communication devices, and Night Vision devices.
